I am now at the furthest point north of my trip in Port Townsend, Washington. Across the Straits of San Juan de Fuca lies the shore of Canada. I am in a campground outside of Port Townsend near the shores of the Straits, and I am loving the feel of salt water, sounds of gulls, smells of ocean. The enormous pines and deep woods of the Northern forests comfort me. Dark and majestic. Mysterious. Stillness.
I am here for the week visiting with Allma and Lou. Some of you will know them from the Saturday morning meditations. Allma was my first massage teacher in Santa Barbara, way back in 1980. We are enjoying connecting again, and appreciating the land, the water, and the good food here in Port Townsend.
I also want to thank the Port Townsend Public Library for their generous internet hospitality! Very friendly and easy place to send out this message, because I have no other internet options for some reason. Just like the old days before cell service and internet access. ๐
